The TV is the mass media of today with great diversity in shows, news, etc. Adult, kids and elders watch television for their own entertainment, tune it to know the hot-top-gossip or maybe to know how's the weather. However, there's many people who watch television more than 3 hours a day without doing nothing. These people don't know about the many effects watching a lot of TV can have like: the obesity, sleep problems and the bad influences shown in the content.
One of the effects watching too much TV can have is the obesity. Most of the people stay long hours watching TV without doing any beneficial activities. When they eat, they bring their snack wherever they are, bed or couch. Furthermore, they gain body fat since they are addictive to watching TV and it can be harmful for the health. In the course, the family tradition of eating in the table is lost.
Other effect it can have is the sleep problems. The people who watch lot of TV tend to hold up the dreams. They would go to sleep at late hours just to watch their favorite TV show or a sport game. This causes to have sleep problems and sometimes, headaches since their sleeps slow down. Most of the people get used to watch TV at late hours and they can't go to sleep if they don't do it. Besides giving headaches, it can also be be harmful to the brain.
As a final, the bad influence shown in the TV can be an effect. Most of the content seen in TV show wrong concepts of the society such as: drugs, sex, violence, etc. Those who watch a lot of TV would think this kind of behaviors are the normal in a society and furthermore, they might copy them. This especially affects the kids who are growing up and if they watch these content most of the time, they would copy these behaviors without thinking it is bad. Since they watch a lot of TV, they see it as the mere reality of the life and the nature.
In conclusion, watching too much TV can have health effects as well as social. Although there's so many bad effects, you can bring out good things from watching TV. For example, if you wanna learn another language, tune everyday at least one hour in a channel that is Spanish, you will learn little by little the language. As well as learning a new language, you can improve it, or maybe tune the TV into a cooking channel and learn how to do some pasta. Apart of the bad things watching a lot of TV brings, you can take advantages from it if you watch it properly without exceeding.
