Clothes can really tell a lot about a person and just by looking from the variants of colors to the shoe style they wear, we can decipher the individuals' preferences and likings. We as humans tend to judge other people always relying on each person's own diverse style. The color, the design or the style gives a distinguishable attribute that clearly you identify with and from others' perspective; it arranges you into a category that we have systematically created. Hipsters, surfers, rock fans are great paragons of this sorting and though, they are somehow wears alike, they are different in every way.
The most simple example of the t-shirt with graphic tees. Obviously, you wouldn't buy something you don't like. So, these t-shirts with design or photography of your beloved singer or band, by just looking at it, you can tell the person's preference of music or movies. As an example, if I see a guy wearing skulls design t-shirt, we might infer immediately that this person likes rock music because it would be the most reasonable but it could be another hidden reason.
As well as designs or pictures of your favorite band or artist in your t-shirt, the colors show us diverse things. Since the moment we are born, the colors take a role in our lives. Our color-coding for each genre, blue for boys and pink for girls, is a quintessential fact. Because of our traditions, it would be odd if you see a boy wearing pink and the same if a girl wears blue. As blue and pink are coded for genre-specification, other colors might have other roles. Black, from head to toe stands for rock fans, however wearing just a black shirt doesn't mean you are a rocker. White might tell purity, liberty, peace or cleanness. Other colors such as orange, red, blue, green, could reflect the way you feel or the way you are; it could be your favorite color.
As a final example, otherwise, the styles reveal some characteristics of yours or it could tell such other things. For example, when I see boys with straight, long combed hair, wearing skinny jeans, vinyl and hoodies I picture instantly as a skater. If the guy wears shorts, a cap, and a pair of tennis I think a surfer. A pair of tennis with some tight shirt and short sports pants would display a sportive person, and I might actually tell which sport he practices.
Perhaps people don't know but clothes are part of our identity whether you are young, child or adult. It identifies us and is somehow essential to our everyday life. However, all the inferences we might get from a person's style can't be exactly assertive. You might get the wrong idea of someone's preferences or attitudes or whatever conclusions you jump of. Buy, indeed, it is part of our identity.
